The Federal Court of Canada announced on August 16, 2011, that the Honourable Allan Lufty that day advised the Minister of Justice of his resignation as Chief Justice of the Federal Court, effective September 30, 2011, after serving eight years as Chief Justice and three years as Associate Chief Justice, and that he elected to hold the office as a supernumerary judge of the Court as of the same date.
